Julia Alvarez is the author of multiple books, including novels, poetry, essays, young adult books, and children's books. Born in New York City, but raised in the Dominican Republic.
-Writer in residence at the Middlebury College in Vermont.
-Former professor of Middlebury College
-Her books have been translated into many languages. In The Time of the Butterflies is available in eleven languages.
