About Teen Scene

How we choose our sites
Park City Library’s Teen Scene is designed to meet the educational, informational and recreational needs of our young adults. We define young adults as ages 12-18. The web site is for use primarily by teens. The links chosen for this page are selected by professional librarians who serve young adults. Internet selection tools and submissions from the public are evaluated to find possible additions to the site.

Sites are chosen with the following considerations in mind:

  • The site is appealing and useful for young adults
  • The contents of the site is appropriate to the needs and interests of young adults
  • The site is of acceptable quality. The following criteria are evaluated:
    • Content: the source must be listed and must be reputable
    • Author contact information must be provided
    • Sites are current and generally have a creation/revision date listed
    • Sites are easy to use even without the highest level of technology
    • Sites are free from extensive advertising and marketing

Disclaimer: These pages are designed for teens ages 12 and older. Teens develop at different rates and in different ways (including, for example, physically, socially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.) The Park City Library does not necessarily recommend that all young adults visit all sites. We encourage parents to visit and discuss these sites with their teenagers. The Park City Library assumes responsibility only for the information provided on its Web pages. Please keep in mind that the Internet has many different kinds of material. Resources available on the Internet may not be accurate, complete, current or acceptable to all users. Resources change rapidly and unpredictably. Users should be aware that they are responsible for the sites they reach.
